  • Assistant coach
  • Referee
  • Uniform distribution
  • Field/Court set up
  • Field/Court tear down
  • End of Season ceremony helper
  • Board Member
WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER?

The policy of the Diocese of St Petersburg requires a Covered Volunteer Application and a background screening for all covered volunteers in Catholic Youth Sports. A covered volunteer is an individual who will have the care, responsibility, and or supervision of a child or youth or unsupervised access to vulnerable adults. Covered volunteer positions are Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Referees. Because you will be volunteering for Catholic Youth Sports and working with young people, we also require some basic information about you, which assures the best possible program and safety for all.

DOES PART OF THE BACKGROUND CHECK INCLUDE FINGERPRINTING?

YES, this is required procedure as part of the background check.

WHERE DO I GET FINGERPRINTED?

The Sports Director will work with you in scheduling an appointment at the Bethany Center. The Bethany Center is located at 18150 Bethany Center Drive, Lutz, Florida 33558.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET FINGERPRINTED?

The Sports Director will set an appointment and the actual fingerprinting takes 15 minutes.

ARE THERE COSTS ASSOCIATED IN BECOMING A VOLUNTEER?

No. The league incurs any costs associated with volunteers.

ARE THERE ANY MANDATORY TRAININGS?

There will be two mandatory trainings if you are involved with children as a volunteer for Catholic Youth Sports. The Safe Environment Training is mandatory for all volunteers that will work with our children and there is a Soccer Coaches and Referee Training. You will not be able to volunteer if any of these courses are missed. No Exceptions.
